Maritime Museum
Introduction: The Maritime Museum was originally the workshop of the Drassanes Royal Shipyard. Built in the 14th century, this shipyard witnessed the glorious history of Catalan maritime trade and shipbuilding industry, and was the largest shipyard in the world at that time.
The interior displays restored medieval wooden ships, design blueprints, nautical charts, and treasures brought back from the New World. Among the most spectacular exhibits is a full-scale model of the Royal Galley, which defeated the Turkish fleet in the Battle of Lepanto in 1571. Transportation: Metro: Drassanes Station on Line 3.
