Casa Calvet
Introduction Casa Calvet was built between 1898 and 1900 and won the first-ever Barcelona Architecture Award in 1900. Compared to other works by Gaudí, the building itself is relatively modest, but it has had a profound influence on Barcelona. Many buildings in the new part of the city show clear inspiration from Casa Calvet. The chairs designed by Gaudí for the house are also quite famous.
Currently, Casa Calvet is not open to visitors, but the ground floor has been converted into a high-end restaurant. Transportation Metro: Urquinaona Station (Lines 1 and 4).
