Located in Barcelona's Old Port, the Barcelona Aquarium opened to the public in 1995 and is home to over 450 species and more than 11,000 marine creatures. It is the most popular aquarium in Barcelona, attracting many children and parents.

With over 50,000 litres of water, the Barcelona Aquarium is one of the largest aquariums in the world dedicated to Mediterranean marine life and is recognized as the largest aquarium in Spain. The aquarium features an 80-metre-long underwater tunnel where visitors can come face-to-face with over 300 species and more than 8,000 marine creatures. You can observe fierce sharks, lively and adorable small fish, and vibrant coral reefs, all coexisting in this vast space. Visitors can also explore different tanks showcasing marine life from around the world, such as species from the Mediterranean, tropical oceans, and Oceania.

Visitors aged 18 and above can also experience the thrill of swimming with sharks. While swimming alongside these majestic creatures, you’ll be surrounded by thousands of other fish, making for an exciting and joyful adventure.
