Venice Tower

Venice Tower is located on Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina in Barcelona, at the intersection of this avenue and Plaça d'Espanya. At each end of the avenue stands a towering structure — these are the famous Venice Towers of Barcelona.

The Venice Tower was modeled after the St. Mark's Campanile in Venice, Italy. Constructed between 1927 and 1929, it stands 47 meters tall with a square base measuring 7.2 meters. The lower part is made of artificial stone, the middle section is red brick, and the top features a colonnade also constructed from artificial stone, topped with a conical copper roof. The Venice Tower primarily serves a decorative function and was built for the 1929 Barcelona International Exposition. Towering prominently, it seems to welcome visitors from afar and leads directly to the Barcelona Trade Fair grounds. It has been designated as a key protected landmark in Barcelona.

In the past, visitors could climb to the top of the Venice Tower to enjoy panoramic views of the city. However, this option has now been discontinued to protect the tower. Visitors can still admire it from a distance or take photos in front of it.
