Circuit de Catalunya, also known as the "Barcelona Circuit," is located in Montmeló, north of Barcelona. It is a purpose-built racing circuit constructed in 1991 and internationally recognized as one of the most perfectly designed tracks.

The Circuit de Catalunya spans 4.655 kilometers and was built for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Although it is not the best circuit in Spain, it is one of the rare tracks that perfectly combines straights and corners—especially the second and third gear corners before the straight and the third gear corner after it, which are key to achieving fast lap times. It is a true test of a car's horsepower and aerodynamic design. The track layout is exceptionally well thought out, incorporating all the elements and requirements of a modern racing circuit. It is widely regarded as a perfect track, featuring long straights, a variety of medium to high-speed corners, and significant elevation changes. The length and difficulty of its corners are quite rare among today’s circuits.

Dubbed the "world’s smartest circuit," the Circuit de Catalunya can evaluate all aspects of a race car’s performance. Aside from Shanghai International Circuit, it is the only track in the world that hosts both Formula 1 and MotoGP events. It is also the most frequently visited testing venue for all F1 teams throughout the year.
