La Rambla is a bustling tree-lined pedestrian promenade situated in the heart of Barcelona. Stretching 1.2 kilometers, it connects Catalonia Square in the city center with the Columbus Monument at the old port. It is one of Europe’s most renowned boulevards, attracting visitors from around the world. Unlike typical streets, the middle of La Rambla is a wide pedestrian walkway, flanked on both sides by tall plane trees whose branches meet overhead, forming a beautiful canopy. The street is lined with colorful and lively kiosks selling newspapers, flowers, and food. Nearby stand various palaces, historic sites, squares, markets, theaters, and museums, offering an overwhelming feast for the eyes. La Rambla draws not only locals but also international tourists, and during peak tourist seasons, visitors outnumber residents.
