The VOLVO Group is the largest industrial enterprise in Sweden, founded in 1927 with its headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden. At the Volvo Car Museum, you can learn about the development of this world-renowned company. It displays all vehicle models from the first Volvo car to the latest models. It is open year-round except on Mondays and Swedish public holidays.

As the largest manufacturing company in Sweden and even Northern Europe, the Volvo Car Museum not only features cars but also showcases products such as airplanes and tanks. In the Volvo car engine product exhibition area, representative engines from various historical periods of Volvo are presented one by one. These include not only Volvo’s early outboard engines and today’s high-tech Duoprop engines, but also the radial engines used in aerospace and the first jet engine used by the Swedish Royal Air Force, along with an early fighter aircraft used by the Swedish Royal Air Force. They tell the story of VOLVO’s glory and dreams beyond automobiles, and remind us of the important role automobile manufacturers play in a nation’s overall strategy.
