Latest Shanghai travel-related COVID-19 prevention policies: Cross-province group tours and flight+hotel packages temporarily suspended

The Shanghai Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau issued a "Notice on the Suspension of Inter-Provincial Group Tours and 'Air Ticket + Hotel' Businesses in this City," requiring cultural and tourism management departments at all levels, travel agencies, and online travel companies to effectively implement various epidemic prevention requirements, do a good job in epidemic prevention and control for tourism teams, strictly implement the circuit breaker mechanism for the management of inter-provincial tourism business activities, and suspend the operation of inter-provincial group tours in and out of land border port cities.

The notice requires that from now on, all travel agencies and online travel companies will immediately suspend the operation of inter-provincial group tours and "air tickets + hotels". After Shanghai is all low-risk areas, relevant businesses can be resumed, but they are not allowed to organize group travel to medium- and high-risk areas, are not allowed to undertake travel groups from medium- and high-risk areas, and are not allowed to organize tourists from medium- and high-risk areas to travel.

According to the requirements of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, travel agencies and online tourism companies will be suspended from operating inter-provincial group travel and "air tickets + hotel" business in and out of land border port cities until March 15, except for those with ports connected to Hong Kong and Macao.

In addition, travel agencies and online travel companies must comprehensively strengthen employee health monitoring and conduct regular nucleic acid tests.
