Cathay Pacific's cabin crew violated quarantine exemption guidelines, allowing the mutant virus Omicron to enter the community. After realizing it, the Hong Kong government hurriedly canceled the quarantine exemption for cargo flight crew members and required them to quarantine at a quarantine hotel for at least seven days. The hotel "East Hong Kong", which is owned by the Swire Group as well as Cathay Pacific, is located next to the Taikoo MTR station. It recently announced on its official website that starting from the 1st of next month, it will become the designated quarantine hotel for Cathay Pacific crew members and will no longer accept reservations. It is said that the relevant arrangement will last for at least 6 months.

EAST said that starting from February 1, EAST Hong Kong will become the designated quarantine hotel for Cathay Pacific crew members. The government has sent dedicated personnel to inspect EAST Hong Kong to ensure that the hotel complies with relevant government requirements. It will continue to comply with government guidelines and thoroughly clean and disinfect all public areas to ensure that the highest hygiene standards are maintained.

Adjacent to Tai Koo MTR Station

There are three restaurants in "Eastern Hong Kong". Among them, the Western restaurant "FEAST" and the cafe "Domain" on the first floor will operate as usual and can only be reached via the pedestrian bridge on the second floor of Cityplaza. The bar "SUGAR" located on the top floor of the hotel on the 32nd floor will be temporarily closed. EAST said that the guest room floors and restaurants have different air conditioning systems, and that the crew quarantine and hotel restaurant service teams will also be divided into two teams.

The EAST is a five-star hotel located next to Taikoo MTR Station, close to Cityplaza and Cornhill Gardens. According to the hotel's website, it offers a total of 345 guest rooms and suites, with each room ranging from 300 to 650 square feet, and some rooms have sea views.
