Scandinavium
Scandinavium is the largest stadium in Scandinavia and one of the best indoor stadiums in the region. It hosts a variety of events such as hockey matches, ice dancing, swimming championships, equestrian shows, concerts, and international conferences.
Construction of Scandinavium began in 1969 and it officially opened on May 18, 1971, to celebrate the 350th anniversary of Gothenburg. The stadium was designed by Poul Hultberg and is now owned by the local company Got Event AB. With a seating capacity of 14,000, it has hosted numerous major sporting and musical events in recent years. Artists who have performed here include Queen, Elton John, Tina Turner, and Oasis. The 2013 European Athletics Championships were held at Scandinavium.
Scandinavium is located on Skånegatan in central Gothenburg. It can be easily reached on foot or by tram lines 2 or 13 (get off at the station of the same name) from Central Station.
