Gothenburg Botanical Garden is the largest and finest botanical garden in Northern Europe, covering an area of 150 acres and conveniently located in the city center of Gothenburg. Nearly half a million visitors come each year to explore the herb garden, edible vegetable garden, and lush, tall vegetation areas. However, the most treasured section is the Rock Garden, which has been awarded three stars in the Michelin "Green Guide" and features over 6,000 different marsh and shade-loving plants.

The wild rhododendrons in the garden are as impressive as the 1,600 species of orchids, while the greenhouses house over 4,500 additional plant species. Among the most fascinating is the Easter Tree, a plant that has gone extinct in its native Easter Island. Additionally, the Trädgårdsföreningen park by the city canal in central Gothenburg is part of the botanical garden and is a very popular gathering spot, especially in summer when it frequently hosts concerts and performances. This park also features the highly popular Palm House, which cultivates tropical and Mediterranean trees and plants, and the Rose Garden boasts up to 4,000 different varieties of roses.
