Introduction

Piazza delle Erbe (Herb Square) is located in the northern part of Verona’s urban area. It is said that during the Roman era, this place was called Forum Romanum and served as a public space for citizens to conduct arbitrations and engage in political activities.

Nowadays, the square is covered with various stalls selling fruits, vegetables, and flowers, giving it the appearance of a large marketplace. In the center of the square stands a fountain built in the 14th century, known as “Verona’s Lover.” The surrounding buildings are luxurious and elegant structures dating from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance period.
