The Ritz Paris opened in 1898 and is also the world's first Ritz hotel. Located on the Place Vendôme in central Paris, it is one of the world’s most famous and luxurious hotels and a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.

The Ritz Paris building began construction in the early 18th century and was originally used as a private residence. The building's exterior was designed by Jules Hardouin-Mansart, the architect who also contributed to the design of the famous Palace of Versailles. The hotel faces the renowned Place Vendôme, and from its rooms, guests can also overlook the garden located at the back of the hotel. Since its opening in 1898, it has attracted numerous celebrities and the wealthy. Fashion designer Coco Chanel made the Ritz her home, living there for over 30 years until her death. American writer Ernest Hemingway was a regular at the hotel bar. In 1997, Princess Diana had just finished dinner in a Ritz suite before being involved in a car accident in Paris.

In addition, the Ritz has also been a filming location for many movies, including Audrey Hepburn’s 1957 film Love in the Afternoon and the 1966 film How to Steal a Million. History and tradition are always what the Ritz stands for — Madame Chanel’s suite remains preserved as it was, and the bar frequented by Hemingway is named the Hemingway Bar. The Ritz is a five-star hotel and is categorized as a luxury establishment in many travel guides.
