Kuramathi Island is situated in the North Ari Atoll of the Maldives, about 35 kilometers from Velana International Airport. The journey takes around 15 minutes by seaplane or 90 minutes by speedboat. It is the longest resort island in the Maldives, originally composed of three hotels with distinct styles. In late 2009, the three were combined and refurbished to form the Kuramathi Resort, a flagship property under Universal. Kuramathi Island can be considered the most beautiful small atoll in the Maldives. On this small island, the same hotel group has developed three different types of resorts: Village, Blue Lagoon, and Club.
