Attraction Introduction

The King Fahd Causeway is a cross-sea highway bridge that connects Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The bridge spans 25 kilometers in total, with an asphalt and concrete surface. It features four lanes in both directions and sidewalks on both sides.

The King Fahd Causeway, which links to Saudi Arabia, has added considerable appeal to Bahrain’s tourism industry, greatly advancing the development of tourism in Bahrain. Constructed in 1986, by the end of last year, the total number of people traveling between the two countries via this bridge reached approximately 100 million.

According to the latest statistics, in 2004, about 12 million people arrived in the Kingdom of Bahrain via this bridge, while only around 2 million arrived via Bahrain International Airport. This highlights the bridge’s importance and also reflects, from another angle, the significant role Saudi visitors play in Bahrain’s tourism industry.
