The World’s Top 10 “Sin Cities” Are Out — Pattaya, Thailand Ranks No. 1

“Sin City” describes a place where indulgence in vice and pleasure is rampant. Just as beneath the glorious spectacles of ancient Roman arenas lay the hedonistic debauchery of fighters after their matches, today new sin cities have emerged — playgrounds full of gambling, sex, alcohol, and dazzling nightlife. According to an investigation by Australian news site news.com.au, the No. 1 city on the new global list of top 10 sin cities is Pattaya, Thailand.

Pattaya, Ranked No. 1 on the Sin City ListIt is home to many massage parlors with hidden “surprises,” as well as openly operating streetwalkers. Nightclubs and bars feature all kinds of sexy performances, and outdoor Muay Thai fights also attract many tourists. “Sex” is the primary activity in this coastal resort city, which locals even refer to as “entertainment.”

Ranked No. 2 is Tijuana, Mexico, a destination that receives less attention. Unlike other bustling international metropolises known for their nightlife, arriving in Tijuana feels like stepping into the “Wild North.” But don’t be fooled by the surface — prostitution is legal here, and nightclubs host numerous strip shows. Especially notable is how affordable alcoholic drinks are in Tijuana; after just a few drinks, the “sin” factor goes up a notch.

Amsterdam’s Red Light District in the Netherlands unsurprisingly comes in third. With its long-standing red-light district, various forms of live erotic performances — and even live sex acts — can be found here. In addition, marijuana is easily accessible in Amsterdam, even sold in some coffee shops, which has led many to label the city as a true sin city.

The top 10 sin cities globally, in order, also include:Las Vegas (USA), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Moscow (Russia), New Orleans (Louisiana, USA), Manama (Bahrain), Macau (China), and Berlin (Germany).
