The Grand Mosque
Introduction The largest mosque in Southeast Asia, located northeast of Merdeka Square. Built by the Indonesian government in 1984, it can accommodate up to 120,000 worshippers at once, making prayer gatherings a spectacular sight. The mosque features grand architecture, with a prominent central dome. It provides a venue for social and cultural events, and major Islamic activities and ceremonies in Indonesia are held here. The Indonesian President and senior government officials often come here for prayers.
