Garuda Indonesia resumes Taipei–Jakarta flights, making business travel more convenient

The first Garuda Indonesia flight to Taiwan arrived at 6:15 a.m. on the 25th at Terminal 1 of Taoyuan Airport, where a water salute ceremony was held to welcome the airline’s first flight in eight years. At 9:50 a.m., it then departed with passengers from Taiwan bound for Jakarta. Travelers can easily connect to popular destinations such as Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, and other major cities. Garuda Indonesia’s Managing Director Irfan Setiaputra stated that since April, with the launch and resumption of services on the Tokyo–Jakarta and Taipei–Jakarta routes, the airline now serves a total of 19 international and 33 domestic destinations, making business travel between Asia, Australia, and other major cities more convenient.

This flight uses a Boeing 738 aircraft, which can accommodate 12 business class passengers and 150 economy class passengers, operating one flight per day, seven days a week, between Taipei and Jakarta. According to Garuda Indonesia statistics, 60% of passengers traveling between Taipei and Jakarta are Taiwanese, mostly business travelers. With the resumption of the Taipei–Jakarta route, passengers can save time by avoiding transfers between different airports and terminals, as they can complete their connections via nearby gates in Garuda Indonesia’s dedicated terminal area, and can also travel onward from Jakarta to major cities in Australia, South Asia, and the Middle East.

Since 2009, Garuda Indonesia has successively introduced new fleets, new cabin products, and a completely new corporate identity. It has been rated as a four-star airline by Skytrax, the world’s leading airline rating organization. In a recent customer survey by the Centre for Aviation (CAPA), it also received top rankings in two categories: best airline service quality in Southeast Asia and most valuable airline in the eyes of customers.
