Introduction

The Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay is Singapore’s premier performing arts venue. Its distinctive domed design has earned it the nickname “The Durian.” Located near Marina Bay, the Esplanade houses a concert hall, theatre, recital studio, and rehearsal rooms, as well as outdoor performance spaces. In addition, it features a shopping mall, international cuisine restaurants, and Singapore’s first arts library – the Esplanade Library, which houses an extensive collection of books and multimedia resources on music, dance, film, and theatre.
