Introduction

Clarke Quay is a popular tourist destination located at the corner of the Singapore River and River Valley Road, named after Sir Andrew Clarke, the second Governor of Singapore. The area is divided into five sections—A to E—centered around a square. Sections A, D, and E along the riverside offer everything from branches of famous Singaporean restaurants to cafés and open-air riverside eateries. Sections B and C serve as shopping and entertainment hubs, featuring specialty goods, crafts, various fashion items, as well as large video game arcades. Additionally, Read Road, between B and C, comes alive at night with open-air stalls and street games, creating a festive atmosphere akin to a temple fair. At the River Valley Road entrance to Clarke Quay, you can find the “Yellow Pigeon Ice House,” an ice manufacturing factory established in 1800. Dining / Accommodation / Shopping

On Sundays, the quay turns into a flea market, with over 70 stalls selling antiques and artworks from early morning until late at night. Transportation

MRT: Take the EW or NS line to Raffles Place Station (Station No. EW14, NS26), then walk along the Singapore River to reach the destination.
