Introduction

Qian Deng Temple is located on Race Course Road, and its official name is the Shakyamuni Bodh Gaya Temple. The temple preserves many ancient Buddhist relics, the most eye-catching of which is a massive 15-meter-tall Buddha statue. Weighing 350 tons, the statue is surrounded by countless flickering lamps and candles that create a dazzling glow. Devotees are welcome to make free donations or light a Buddha lamp. Beneath the statue hangs a beautiful painted scroll depicting the life story of the Buddha. Behind the statue is a small door leading to an inner chamber where a reclining Buddha is enshrined; however, photography is not allowed for the reclining Buddha. Transport
