Underwater World Singapore is located on Sentosa Island and opened to the public in 1991. Most of the aquarium is built underground and is home to about 2,500 marine creatures from around the world, representing approximately 250 species, making it the largest tropical aquarium in Asia.

Underwater World Singapore is an aquarium that combines leisure, entertainment, and education. Its 83-meter-long (approximately 272 feet) moving walkway takes visitors through an underwater tunnel (made of 6mm-thick acrylic) where they can explore a variety of marine life including coral reefs, stingrays, whales, and the endangered green sea turtle. The aquarium also offers environmental and educational programs such as “Living in the Ocean,” “Ocean Ambassador,” and “Coral Club” to raise awareness about marine conservation.
