Bugis Junction is located in the planned downtown area and was completed and opened in 1995. It consists of a shopping mall, a high-rise office building, and the InterContinental Singapore Hotel. The shopping mall has a covered pedestrian street, which was the first in Singapore to have a glass roof and air conditioning. The complex also houses numerous small shops selling a variety of electronics, clothing, and other goods, with many delicious street snacks available. When night falls, the area becomes bustling with shoppers, lively and vibrant.
