Singapore Flyer

The Singapore Flyer is a giant observation wheel located in Singapore. It took three years to complete, from 2005 to 2008. The 42-story-high wheel has a diameter of 150 meters and is situated atop a three-story leisure and retail complex, with a total height of 165 meters. This height surpasses the 160-meter tall Star of Nanchang and the 135-meter tall London Eye.

The construction area of the Singapore Flyer spans approximately 16,000 square meters, and the entire facility extends along the Marina Bay Promenade, covering a total area of 33,700 square meters. The wheel itself has a diameter of 150 meters and takes about 30 minutes to complete one full rotation. It features 28 air-conditioned capsules, each with an area of 26 square meters and a capacity of 28 passengers, bringing the annual maximum designed passenger capacity to 7.3 million. From the top, visitors can enjoy not only views of Singapore’s city center but also sights stretching up to around 45 kilometers away, including Indonesia’s Batam and Bintan islands, as well as Malaysia’s Johor state.

The three-story leisure and retail complex beneath the Singapore Flyer offers commercial, retail, and dining services. The top level serves as the boarding platform for the wheel, surrounded by a Greek-style waterfront theater and a pier. Behind the building is a bus parking lot with 40 spaces, connected via an underground passage to a multi-level parking structure with 300 spots.

Passengers inside the capsules can admire breathtaking views of Singapore’s cityscape and the sea stretching into the horizon. The attraction is also a popular venue for gatherings. Not only can parties be held on the Flyer, but for those looking to propose, it even offers champagne, flowers, and chocolates—making it one of the world's most romantic and attention-grabbing love landmarks.
