The Singapore Toy Museum (Mint Museum of Toys) officially opened to the public on March 5, 2007, making it the world’s first museum dedicated entirely to toys. The full meaning of its name “Mint” refers to “Moment of Imagination and Nostalgia with Toys.” The museum displays a vast collection of antique toys from the mid-19th century to the mid-20th century, including extremely rare one-of-a-kind pieces.

Located in a five-story contemporary building, the Singapore Toy Museum houses a collection of over 50,000 toys from more than 40 countries around the world, earning it the reputation as the largest toy museum in Southeast Asia. Among its treasures are highly rare antique Disney toys and memorabilia; character toys such as Astro Boy, Spider-Man, Popeye, Dennis the Menace, Tintin, and Popeye; Japanese toys predating World War II; Chinese-made toys, including the rare “Gate of Hope” toy collection dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries; a unique collection of teddy bears; and a precious selection of vintage Chinese comic book covers from the 1920s; as well as Golden Age comics.
