Sports Museum

The Sports Museum is located near the Singapore National Stadium and was established in 1983. It focuses on collecting Singapore’s sports heritage, commemorating athletes who have made outstanding contributions to the country’s sports industry, while also promoting the development of sports in Singapore and making physical activity a part of everyday life for the public.

The Sports Museum has six exhibition rooms covering the development of sports in Singapore as well as Olympic and non-Olympic events. These include Colonial-Era Sports, Sports During Singapore’s Independence, Local and Traditional Sports, Hall of Fame, Olympic, Regional, and International Competitions, and the Roll of Honour. The Hall of Fame introduces male and female athletes who have brought glory to Singapore, as well as notable figures in the history of Singapore sports. The Roll of Honour features the most outstanding male and female athletes, coaches, and others.

The Sports Museum houses Singapore’s first Olympic medal won by Tan Howe Liang, medals from the All England Badminton Championships, gold medals from the World Games, and more.
