Chinese Garden

Also known as the “Chinese Garden,” the Chinese Garden is located in Jurong East, Singapore. Built in 1975 and designed and constructed by Taiwanese designer Yu Yizhen, it spans 13 acres. Based on Chinese garden art, its most distinctive feature is the seamless integration of architecture and environment, fully showcasing traditional Chinese architectural styles.

The Chinese Garden combines the grandeur of traditional Chinese imperial gardens with the elegance and charm of Jiangnan-style gardens, creating a classical Chinese courtyard-style garden that is beloved by Singaporeans. With lush green lawns, blooming flowers, red walls and green tiles, rugged rockeries, small bridges over flowing streams, the garden offers a serene and refined atmosphere that is a feast for the eyes. It features more than 30 scenic spots, mainly modeled after the style of Song Dynasty palaces, including a clear lake, the white Baihong Bridge, an elegant teahouse, a towering Cloud-Piercing Pagoda, charming pavilions, and artificial islands.

The architectural complex within the Chinese Garden embodies the essence of ancient Chinese garden design, reflecting the nostalgia of overseas Chinese for China’s long-standing culture and traditional architectural art, while also promoting Chinese garden architecture to a wider audience.
