Sister’s Islands

Sister’s Islands is located in the western part of Singapore, facing the sea. It consists of Pulau Subar Laut (Sister Island—Big) covering an area of about 3.9 hectares and Pulau Subar Darat (Sister Island—Small) covering an area of about 1.7 hectares. The two islands are separated by a narrow channel, which swimmers and divers must not attempt to cross.

There is a legend about Sister’s Islands. It is said that the islands were once a single island. A pirate leader abducted a woman and married her. A widow had two beautiful daughters, and the sisters tried to escape the pirates’ pursuit but were swallowed by the sea. The next day, the island was split into two—hence the name of the islands. Although not very large, Sister’s Islands has everything: long, silvery-white beaches, boundless seas, and warm sunshine, making it a perfect choice for enjoying tropical island life.

The beautiful coral reefs near Sister’s Islands are home to numerous marine creatures, making it a famous spot for swimming and diving. Please note that the waves here can be strong, and apart from specially designated swimming areas, other spots may be dangerous.
