Located at the northeastern tip of Phuket Island, Phang Nga Bay is known as Thailand’s “Little Guilin.” The tranquil bay is dotted with numerous large and small islands featuring bizarrely shaped rocks, making it a “maritime wonder of the world.” Among them, James Bond Island, Nail Island, and the Karst Cave on Bell Island have gained fame for their stunning natural scenery. The bay is scattered with precious mangroves, hundreds of uniquely shaped limestone islets, exquisitely crafted karst cave formations, and countless strange rocks and sea caves.

There are natural waterways between the mangroves and small fishing villages. Paddling through these waterways among the mangroves and fishing hamlets is a truly relaxing experience. Typically, two people can rent a rubber dinghy for about 45 minutes to explore the various large and small limestone caves around the bay. It is worth mentioning that a visit to Phang Nga Bay is incomplete without seeing James Bond Island, which became famous for being the filming location of the movie *The Man with the Golden Gun*. The island also features a secret passage that takes visitors from one landing point to the other end. The long-tail boats used here are also unique to Thailand—long in shape, with rows that seat two people each, totaling about sixteen rows, resembling small dragon boats found in the Pearl River Delta.

In Phuket, many travel agencies offer one-day or half-day tours to Phang Nga Bay—with packages ranging from 2-in-1 to 6-in-1 options, priced between 700 and 1200 Thai Baht. These include visits to 007 Island, floating fishing villages, canoe adventures, kayaking, elephant rides, and monkey shows.

Transportation:

To reach Phang Nga, take a vehicle across the sea bridge to Phang Nga Province, then board a long-tail boat or speedboat to 007 Island. The long-tail boats used are also unique to Thailand—long in shape, with rows seating two people each, and approximately sixteen rows in total.

Entertainment:

For kayaking, it’s two people per kayak at 200 Thai Baht per person for 45 minutes, allowing you to paddle through various large and small limestone caves.
