The long-running Phuket International Blues Music Festival has grown more spectacular each year and has now become a regular international music event on the island. This 2011 edition of the Phuket International Blues Music Festival will host a lively and grand blues music feast from February 25 to 26. In addition to attracting top blues bands from across Thailand, the festival will also feature renowned musicians from around the world, including the United States and Australia, filling the romantic island of Phuket with classic blues melodies and making it a highlight for local tourism.

The Phuket International Blues Music Festival has invited bands such as Curtis Salgado (USA), Mson Ruffner (USA), AkashA (Malaysia), The New Machine plays Pink Floyd (UK), and The Prodigal Sons (Norway) to perform. One of the highlights of this music festival is its support for local charitable causes, with proceeds donated to charity organizations to help provide better education for young students.

In addition, the Tourism Authority of Thailand noted that those wishing to attend this musical event can take buses, with several daily services to Phuket taking about 13 hours. Travelers planning to go by train must take a train to Phun Phin Station in Surat Thani Province and then transfer to a bus to Phuket. The most convenient option is to fly, which takes approximately 1.2 hours. There are many daily domestic flights from Bangkok to Phuket, with some flights making a 40-minute stop in Samui before continuing to Phuket.
