Don’t overlook this spot when visiting Phuket Island—Dang Phu Islands Tour: o_ Lake shines like emerald green

If you’re vacationing in Phuket, Thailand, you absolutely must visitDang (Trang), once listed as one of “Thailand’s Must-Visit Travel Destinations.” Dang boasts numerous charming old-style buildings, churches, and temples. Explore this city full of Sino-Portuguese architecture by riding the iconic “frog-headed tuk-tuk,” including the highly revered “Yia Giu Ong Temple,” a century-old Catholic church bell tower, and a charming railway station.

The most captivating railway station, “Kan Tang Station,” was built during the reign of King Rama VI and has a history of over 100 years. It was recently officially recognized as a heritage site by Thailand’s Fine Arts Department. This single-story wooden station, painted in mustard yellow and brown, features ornate wooden carvings on its beams and unique vintage doors from that era.

Also not to be missed is an exciting island-hopping tour. It’s recommended to start your journey in the morning, heading to Koh Kradan, Koh Mook, and the Morakot (Emerald) Cave. The first stop is Koh Kradan, where you’ll be greeted by stunning coral reefs and schools of vibrant fish, including moray eels and clownfish darting around sea anemones.

Next, head to the northern part of Koh Mook, where the coral formations are completely different from those at Koh Kradan, sprawling among the rocks in a uniquely peculiar landscape. The itinerary then takes you to the Morakot Cave. While traversing this 800-meter-long cave, you’ll need to crouch in a single file through the pitch-dark passage until you emerge inside o_ Lake, where sunlight bathes the water’s surface, making it shimmer like emerald with its strikingly clear blue hue.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand states that Dang is suitable for all types of travelers, offering charming townscapes and an incredibly beautiful underwater world. Visitors traveling to Phuket must not miss Dang.

Transportation Tips:
You can take flights with Thai Airways, EVA Air, or Swissair from Taipei to Bangkok, then transfer to a domestic flight to Dang. Alternatively, fly directly to Phuket with China Airlines or Uni Air and then take a bus to Dang.
