In Jindongjin, Gangneung City, Gangwon Province, South Korea, there are three spots where you can enjoy the sea: the ocean in front of Jindongjin Station, the sea near the Sand Leakage Park, and the waters by the Jindongjin breakwater. Among these, the areas in front of Jindongjin Station and near the Sand Leakage Park are more convenient. The Sand Leakage Park is illuminated day and night, and to its south there are a sculpture park and a flower road. The beach in front of Jindongjin Station is rocky, and you can find delicious seafood such as clams, blood cockles, and kelp, which makes it popular among visitors.

Jindongjin Beach is located in Jindongjin 1-ri, Gangdong-myeon, featuring a 250-meter-long sandy shore spanning 13,000 square meters. Since the operation of the Jindongjin Sunrise Tourist Train in 1997, it has become especially popular. It is said that in a village here, there was a protruding mountain called Goseong Mountain, and every year taxes were collected from Goseong in Gangwon Province. Later, a child prodigy from Goseong cleverly resolved the issue, exempting the village from taxation thereafter. To offer visitors better views of the sunrise, an octagonal pavilion named Ingye Pavilion was built atop the mountain in June 1999. This elegantly designed pavilion blends perfectly with the blue sea, adding even more charm to the beach.
