Winter in South Korea offers the joy of a snowy winter getaway, and getting to ski resorts has never been easier. From December 5, 2010, to February 25, 2011, South Korea operates a daily (closed on Mondays) free sightseeing bus called ‘WHITE LINE’ to Gangwon Province for all international visitors.

To ride the free bus, simply apply online at the ‘2010-2012 Visit Korea Year’ website http://chinese.visitkoreayear.com (available in Chinese, Japanese, English, and Korean). Each person can apply for up to two tickets. If the number of applicants exceeds 25 on a given day, tickets will be allocated via a lottery system. Successful applicants will be notified by email 10 days before their scheduled ride, or you may check your application status online.

Please bring the notification letter and your passport when boarding. Arrive at Donghwa Duty Free Shop in front of Gwanghwamun, Seoul, by 8:00 AM to depart. The WHITE LINE bus will make stops at Yongpyong Resort (11:30 AM), Alpensia Resort (11:45 AM), and finally arrive at Gangneung Central Market (1:00 PM). In the afternoon, it departs from Gangneung Central Market at 5:00 PM, makes a 10-minute stop at Alpensia Resort at 6:00 PM and at Yongpyong Resort at 6:25 PM, and arrives back in Seoul at 9:45 PM. The bus is equipped with Wi-Fi, personal headphones, DVD facilities, and provides a guidebook for the Gangwon region.
