The strike by China Airlines pilots during the Spring Festival caused an uproar, and on March 19, news emerged that EVA Air flight attendants might also go on strike, causing many travelers to worry about whether their travel rights would be affected.

The main reason EVA Air flight attendants are considering a strike this time is that they believe their overseas station allowances are lower than those of China Airlines—EVA Air offers USD 3 per hour (approximately NT$90), while China Airlines offers USD 5 (approximately NT$150). In addition to the allowance issue, the problem of overworked flights still persists.
A second labor-management coordination meeting will be held on April 9. If no consensus is reached, the Taoyuan Flight Attendants’ Union has stated that it does not rule out taking strike action to push for negotiations.
