Winter in South Korea offers the joy of a snowy winter getaway, and visiting ski resorts has never been easier. From December 5, 2010 to February 25, 2011, South Korea operates a daily “WHITE LINE” free sightseeing bus (excluding Mondays) for all international visitors heading to Gangwon Province.

To ride the free bus, simply apply online at the “2010-2012 Visit Korea Year” website http://chinese.visitkoreayear.com (available in Chinese, Japanese, English, and Korean). Each person can apply for up to two tickets. If the number of applicants on a given day exceeds 25, tickets will be allocated by lottery. Successful applicants will be notified by email 10 days before departure or can check their application status online.

When boarding, be sure to bring the notification letter and your passport, and arrive at the Donghwa Duty Free Shop in front of Gwanghwamun, Seoul, by 8:00 AM to depart. The WHITE LINE sightseeing bus will make stops at Yongpyong Resort (11:30 AM), Alpensia Resort (11:45 AM), and finally arrive at Gangneung Central Market (1:00 PM). It departs from Gangneung Central Market at 5:00 PM, making a 10-minute stop at Alpensia Resort at 6:00 PM and at Yongpyong Resort at 6:25 PM, before arriving back in Seoul at 9:45 PM. The bus is equipped with Wi-Fi, personal headphones, DVD facilities, and provides a guidebook for the Gangwon Province area.
