Destination Introduction

Honglingjin Park is located in Balizhuang, outside Chaoyangmen, and was built in 1958. It covers an area of 95,000 square meters, with 200,000 square meters of water surface.

The land area is mainly composed of children's playgrounds, while various types of boats float on the water. Before the 1970s, the lake here was clear and the scenery beautiful, but it was severely damaged due to environmental pollution. After dredging and treatment in 1989, its former beauty was restored. In May 1991, a group sculpture of young heroes was erected here, showcasing the stories of outstanding young heroes from different historical periods of China’s revolution to young visitors wearing red scarves, inspiring today’s children to strive for excellence.

The park features a group sculpture of young heroes, making it well-known for its educational focus on children. The young heroes depicted include remarkable figures from revolutionary history: during the Great Revolution, there are child labor brigade members such as Luo Zhiqun; during the Land Reform period, there are young singers from the red areas like Zhang Jinhui; from the War of Resistance against Japan, there is Liu Hulan; from the Liberation War period, there is Little Radish Head; after the founding of the People’s Republic of China, there are Liu Wenxue and Lai Ning; as well as Soviet hero Zoya and Chinese youth hero Lei Feng.
