Halla Ecological Forest

Halla Ecological Forest is located in the highland area at an altitude of 600 meters on the mountain near Bonggae-dong, Jeju City, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, South Korea, along the side of Road 5.16. From the early 1970s to 1995, it was privately used as a pasture for cattle and horses, but it is now state-owned forest land managed by the Korea Forest Service.

The ecological forest is home to 288,000 restored plants of 333 species, including forest organisms, warm-temperate, temperate, and cold-zone vegetation, as well as 13 themed woodland areas such as maple forests, globular tree forests, and azalea forests. In recent years, the forest has also introduced special infrastructure including ecological trails, observation decks, seedling nurseries, themed walking paths, and genetic preservation tissue culture labs, greatly enhancing the visiting experience for tourists.
