Exclusive for foreign travelers: Jeju Island’s “Golden Bus” shuttles, becoming a new cityscape attraction

Korea’s “honeymoon island”—Jeju, known for its natural and laid-back pace, is loved by many international visitors. Recently, a foreigner-exclusive “Jeju Golden Bus” has been launched locally. The shiny, golden-colored bus shuttling through the streets has become the latest scenic sight in downtown Jeju.

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Taiwan Tourism Promotion Office stated that the foreigner-exclusive Jeju Golden Bus now runs daily from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, departing every hour from the Jeju Welcome Center. The route passes by Jeju International Airport and major tourist areas in downtown Jeju, with designated stops at large tourist hotels and key commercial districts for easy access by foreign visitors. The adult fare is 12,000 KRW, and the child and youth fare is 10,000 KRW. With a same-day ticket, passengers may get on and off freely at any stop an unlimited number of times.

The Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Taiwan Tourism Promotion Office has also partnered with Taiwan’s China Airlines, Air Busan, and T’way Air. Specifically targeting Taiwanese travelers visiting Jeju independently—whether flying directly from Taiwan to Jeju or island-hopping via domestic Korean flights—anyone traveling to Jeju independently before December 30 of this year will receive one “Jeju Golden Bus Free Ride Coupon.” Limited quantities are available and will be given out on a first-come, first-served basis.
