Torreya Road

Torreya Road refers to the road stretching between Pungdaeri in Gujwa-eup and Bonggae-dong in Jeju City, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, South Korea. With a total length of 27.3 kilometers, it is not only one of Jeju Island’s most iconic roads but also one of the best-preserved natural areas. Lush trees on both sides of the road and silvery silvergrass fields create a magnificent landscape brimming with natural charm, which received high praise during South Korea’s “1st Beautiful Roads” competition in 2002.

Torreya Road is one of the best roads in Jeju for a walk. As visitors stroll along this path, they are enveloped in exceptional tranquility, breathing in the fragrant mountain air and admiring the beautiful scenery among the woods — a truly delightful experience. In addition, the road is lined with many ranches. With Hallasan Mountain and parasitic volcanoes in the background, horses and cows graze quietly under the blue sky and white clouds, or lazily lie on the grasslands soaking up the warm sunlight.
