Seokmok Seonsaeng has gone by many names, but it wasn’t until 1971 when it was designated as the No. 2 Local Folklore Material that its official name was settled. Its image can be seen not only across Jeju Island but also beyond. In order to preserve this precious cultural heritage—the image of Seokmok Seonsaeng—for generations to come, the relevant authorities in Jeju specially collected various stone grandfather statues, reorganized them based on their academic and artistic value, and established a new educational and sightseeing venue known as “Seokmok Seonsaeng Park.”

Located at 976 Bukchon-ri, Chodang-myeon, Jeju-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Korea, Seokmok Seonsaeng Park features various zones including 48 reproduction spaces, an explanatory area about Seokmok Seonsaeng craftsmanship, walking trails, a reinterpretation exhibition space for Seokmok Seonsaeng, a Jeju-style garden, and hands-on learning areas. Visitors can view stone grandfather statues made from different materials and in various forms, while also learning about the history, customs, and related stories behind these sculptures—gaining a deeper understanding of this cultural heritage.
