Wolrang Peak

Wolrang Peak is located in Suhwari Mountain, 6, Gujeol-ri, Gujwa-eup, Jeju-si, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, South Korea. It is a parasitic volcano with an elevation of 382.4 meters. The mountain is close to Seongsan Ilchulbong and Udo Island, and not only offers beautiful scenery but also provides panoramic views of Mount Hallasan and many other peaks from its summit, making it one of the most famous hiking destinations in Jeju.

Wolrang Peak has an overall oval shape, sloping on all sides with a flat northern part, and features a peak summit rising prominently at the top. The volcanic crater at the mountain’s peak is rounder than most, resembling a bright full moon, which is why it is called Wolrang Peak, meaning “Moon Wolf Peak.” The summit has few trees and is mainly covered with lush grass. Next to Wolrang Peak is a smaller nearby peak known as Little Wolrang Peak. An annual Wolrang Peak Festival is held here, usually during the full moon, attracting many family-visiting tourists who walk along the wooden stairways.
