Hallasan Arboretum

Hallasan Arboretum is located in Jeju City and opened in December 1993. Its purpose is to protect Jeju Island’s natural ecological environment and support research and learning, while also serving as an ideal travel destination for visitors to connect with nature, enjoy its greenery, and breathe fresh air.

Hallasan Arboretum is home to approximately 909 species of native Jeju trees and subtropical plants, including 506 tree species and 90 plant species—105 subtropical species and 103 native species in its greenhouses. The garden also houses 2,722 protected plants that are endangered or at risk of extinction, and cultivates rare species such as Chollimok and Mannyeon beans, as well as bamboo grass unique to Cheonjiyeon. Within the arboretum, there are flowering forests and maple woods that allow visitors to encounter beautiful nature year-round and experience the elegant surroundings and wonderful memories that nature offers.
