Chronicle of Hitachi Hills is a historical park located in Ishioka City, Ibaraki Prefecture, in Japan’s Kanto region. It is dedicated to preserving and passing on the unique heritage of the area. In addition to its quaint historical ruins, the park is planted with a variety of flowers such as cherry blossoms, lotus, and lilies, creating picturesque scenery throughout all four seasons, and is the most famous attraction in Ishioka City.

Ishioka City was once the site of the provincial capital of ancient Hitachi Province. It is home to a wealth of ancient ruins dating back over 10,000 years, as well as burial mounds from the 4th to 6th centuries. To preserve these relics in their entirety and pass them on to future generations, the authorities established Chronicle of Hitachi Hills. This historical park features reconstructed representative buildings from the Jomon Period (approximately 10,000 BCE to 4th century BCE) to the late Edo Period—including the Ancient Houses Plaza—and important sites such as the 2,000-year-old Ogaha Lotus Pond, all of which hold significant value for studying the culture and lifestyle of those eras.
