Nagasaki City is located in Nagasaki Prefecture on Japan’s Kyushu Island and serves as the prefectural capital. It is an important port city in western Japan. Surrounded by mountains on three sides, many residences are built on slopes, resulting in numerous stepped or sloped streets.
