Introduction Located by the Sumida River in Asakusa, Ueno Park is world-renowned for the "Cherry Blossoms of Mukojima" from the Edo period, historically praised as "a ten-mile embankment with blossoms like clouds." Over 700 cherry blossom trees line both banks of the Sumida River, stretching over 1 kilometer. The view of the cherry blossoms on both sides of the river is particularly spectacular when seen from Sakurabashi Bridge. Sakurabashi is a pedestrian bridge funded and built by local residents from both sides of the Sumida River. Visitors can also enjoy the cherry blossoms from a roofed cruise boat, which offers a unique experience. Every year at the end of July, Tokyo’s largest fireworks festival is held here.
