To attract flower-viewing crowds during the Lunar New Year, this year Taitung’s Chenggong Flower Sea has planned two major themes: the "Step-by-Step Ascent" landscape area and the "Fortune Turning" flower sea area. The Step-by-Step Ascent landscape area is located next to a century-old pine tree at Zhongxiao Elementary School, where a variety of colorful flowers such as dianthus, African marigold, and tricolor hibiscus are planted, creating a stunning contrast with the old pine. In addition to driving there on your own, visitors can also join the “Flowerful Taitung Agritourism Shuttle Bus” – an exceptional tour package available until March 10 – to easily reach various flower seas around Taitung while also participating in different rural experience activities and tasting local delicacies.

Starting from downtown Taitung and heading north along Provincial Highway 9, you can enjoy the layered green peaks of Dulan Mountain along the way, gaze at Green Island situated by the Kuroshio Current in the sea, pass through Dulan, Jinzun, Donghe, and Dulih, and after going through the Sanciyuan Tunnel, you’ll arrive at the Chenggong Flower Sea area. It’s about a one-hour drive to see vast fields of blooming flowers. This year, indigenous artists have also created numerous driftwood installations that decorate the colorful flower displays. The park also offers parent-child activities such as coffee tasting and DIY painting. You can even sip on locally grown Sanciyuan coffee while ascending the viewing platform to enjoy the breathtaking panorama of endless flowers and sea, take in the vast magnificence of the Pacific Ocean, and gaze at the coastal beauty of Sanciyuan’s Eight-Arch Bridge.
