The full name of the Q1 Building is Queensland Number One, located on the Gold Coast in Queensland. Construction began in 2002 and was completed in 2005, making it the tallest skyscraper in Australia. Upon completion, it was the tallest residential building in the world, a title it held until 2008 when it was surpassed by the Burj Khalifa's residential tower in Dubai.

The design of the Q1 Building was inspired by the torch of the 2000 Sydney Olympics, the Sydney Opera House, and the lifestyle of Australians. Its name is derived from the 1920 Australian men's sculling eight-oar rowing team. The building stands 322.5 meters tall with 78 floors and covers a construction area of 107,510.00 square meters. It features a reinforced concrete structure, a ten-story observation deck, the fastest elevator system in the Southern Hemisphere, and the world’s longest spire helix. The Q1 Building is notable for having a green forest on the 60th floor, Australia’s highest swimming pool on the 74th floor, and open-air observation decks and a café on the 77th and 78th floors.
