Laitai Food Street

Turn left at the first intersection along Liangmaqiao Road, going east from Yansha Bridge. Located diagonally opposite Women’s Street on Qicai North Road, this is the newly emerged “Laitai Food Street” in recent years. The area is surrounded by the under-construction Third Embassy Area, as well as Laitai Flower Market, Pengrun Building, and more. The newly renovated roads are quite smooth. This area is home to nearly 20 restaurants offering a range of cuisines including Sichuan, Cantonese, Hunan, Hangzhou, Xinjiang, Japanese, Korean, Hong Kong-style cafés, coffee shops, and even Lebanese fare. Most establishments feature relatively upscale decor and distinctive atmospheres, with the exception of a few, where the average per-person spending falls within the mid-range. The street is well-planned, with parking spaces available in front of each restaurant and a parking lot in the back. Security personnel manage the area. It is a classic example of an “up-and-coming” food street. Though it opened quietly, all its eateries quickly became very popular.
