Jiangfu Park
Jiangfu Park is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.
Jiangfu Park is located on the eastern side of Jiangtai Area in Chaoyang District and is one of the parks within Beijing’s Green Belt Isolation Zone project. It was an important part of the 58 key initiatives directly related to people's livelihoods launched by the municipal government in 2007. The park has a planned area of 58 hectares and is being developed in two phases starting from 2007, with the first phase covering 24 hectares, which was completed and opened to the public in April 2008. Since its completion, Jiangfu Park has become the largest park green space in the areas of Electronics City, Jiuxianqiao, and Jiangtai, enriching the urban functions of the region, enhancing the city’s environmental image, and providing residents with a beautiful environment for leisure, fitness, and recreation.
The design of Jiangfu Park takes full advantage of the existing woodland conditions and explores the cultural heritage of Jiangtai Area. It incorporates a variety of activities suitable for natural environments, such as leisure, fitness, entertainment, experience, science education, and sightseeing, while also providing necessary supporting facilities to meet the diverse recreational needs of residents. The overall park design is divided into six functional zones: the Camel Barn Cultural Leisure Zone, the Woodland Leisure and Sightseeing Zone, the Jiangtai Waterscape Leisure Zone, the Bashui Riverside Sightseeing Zone, the Ball Sports Zone, and the Beijing-flavor Cultural Activity Zone. The construction of Jiangfu Park embodies the guiding concept of “exploring Jiangtai culture, building a park brand, and serving local residents.” The main entrance of the park begins with a thick, thread-bound edition of the “Jiangfu Park Storybook,” drawing visitors into a world of historical tales. The park’s development is infused with the idea of uncovering the cultural roots of Jiangtai, using a large mural wall depicting the “Legend of Jiuxianqiao” to tell the beautiful story of the bridge. A bluish-gray ancient general’s platform quietly invites visitors to imagine the grand scene of King Zhao of Yan appointing generals atop the platform. The Camel Barn Path and Camel Shadow Trail sites recount the origin of the name of the village where the park is located—Camel Barn Camp—and the bustling scene of grain boats once shuttling along the Bashui River. The entire park is filled with a rich historical and cultural atmosphere.
The construction of Jiangfu Park adheres to the principles of prioritizing ecology, highlighting a suburban feel, and maintaining natural harmony. Based on the existing woodlands, it maximizes the protection and utilization of current forest resources. In line with the requirements of planting suitable tree species for the environment and enhancing biodiversity, native tree species are primarily used to optimize the forest structure. Emphasis is placed on spatial arrangement of plants, seasonal changes, natural landscapes, and ecological functions, striving to create a backyard garden for the Electronics City, Jiuxianqiao, Jiangtai areas, and even the Wangjing area. It provides residents with an unforgettable place for leisure, fitness, and recreation, making it a valuable green asset for the general public. Jiangfu Park Transportation Tips:
