Changying Park is situated in a thousand-mu ginkgo forest within the greening isolation area of the northwest part of Changying, Chaoyang District, and spans around 742,900 square meters (1,114 mu). It is built in two phases: phase one has a construction scale of 344,200 square meters (516 mu), starting in October 2007 and completed in April 2008; phase two covers 398,700 square meters (598 mu) and began construction in 2008. Changying Park features autumn forest scenery and serves as a suburban park catering to public activities such as sightseeing, leisure, fitness, and sports.

Major attractions in phase one of the park include: the Flower Dance Cultural Shade Square, Forest Rest Pavilion, Chess & Card Plaza, Fitness Plaza, Dancing Plaza, Ball Sports Field, Children’s Activity Plaza, Tree Pavilion Garden, Diabolo Sports Plaza, and the Thousand-Meter Jogging Trail through the woods. The park primarily meets the daily fitness and leisure needs of the public, while also incorporating region-specific sports and cultural activities—such as the Flower Dance Cultural Shade Square, Diabolo Sports Plaza, and cultural performances.

Phase two of the park will create a “Ginkgo Corridor” to highlight the distinctive landscape of ginkgo trees. It will also showcase scientific knowledge about green plants, health, and wellness, while promoting the concept of environmental care. Key attractions include Ginkgo Terrace, Apricot Blossom Valley, Fragrant Flower Plaza, Peony Garden, Cherry Blossom Island, and Green Pavilion Morning Exercise Plaza—specialized plant-themed spaces designed for leisure and fitness activities.

The park can be connected via greenbelts on both sides of Xiaochangou to the riverside green areas of Dongba and Pingfang, forming a green space network together with Dongba Suburban Park and Jingcheng Locust Garden.
